Use the command palette and the Assistant
Run any edit by name from the palette, or describe it in your own words and let the Assistant propose it.
Every edit in Wabcut is a command with a name, and the command palette reaches all of them from the keyboard.
Run a command#
- Press Ctrl+Shift+P, or click the palette button in the title bar. The palette opens with "Type a command, or ask AI…".
- Type a few letters of the command's name. Each result shows its shortcut, so the palette teaches you the keys as you go.
- Press Enter.
A command's parameters appear as a small form. The selected clip and the playhead fill themselves in, and optional settings start at their defaults.
A command that needs a clip is greyed out with "Select a clip first" until you select one. Every command is one undo step (Ctrl+Z).
Ask the Assistant#
The palette's "Ask AI…" row opens the Assistant panel.
- Describe the edit in your own words, for example "duck the game under my voice".
- The Assistant proposes ordinary Wabcut commands and previews them. Nothing changes yet.
- Review the proposal, then choose "Accept", "Refine" or "Reject".
Every accepted change is one undo step.
The Assistant uses a cloud model with your own key, or a local model from Settings > AI > "Local assistant". See Use AI on your computer or with your own key.
